Is FFA for our Family?

Considerations

How will this program benefit our family?

How much time will we need to invest?

zz9f.jpg

- Program will echo strong moral and character teaching

- Students will build confidence in group settings

- Students learn their own strengths and abilities as well as others and how that understanding works to build a team

- Students will learn to confidently express their ideas and opinions

- Students will learn to present their ideas in front of groups

- Students have an equal voice in a student-led, adult supervised organization

- Students will learn about agriculture, food science, and natural resources

- Students will learn how to plan and maintain a personal project

The benefit of this program will be in direct proportion to the investment of the student and the support of the family.  While membership only involves completing one semester of an approved agriculture class and paying membership dues per year, the opportunities are vast and unique to each member.  Here is a list of activities with a suggested amount of time attached to them.

Daily

Care of personal project(s), Activity & Financial Journaling, Preparation and Practice for Events, and other seasonal student projects (i.e. Agriscience during the summer).

Weekly

Monday Night LEAD Class (6:00-8:00pm at BBC)

Monthly

Monthly Meeting (Last Monday of the month, typically 6:00-8:00pm at BBC)

Annually

POA events occur at various times throughout the week, month, and year.  They include contests, conventions, safety events, recreation activities, and more.  See the Activities section.

How much will it cost to participate?

What do we need to participate?

- An FFA "Go Bag" is suggested for each student to assemble.

- FFA Official Dress, OD

- Enroll in an Agricultural Education Class (we provide these)
